Daniel Higley (1738-1812), who had served in the early wars, was lieutenant of
Connecticut militia from Simsbury in the Revolution. He removed after the war to
Marlboro, Vt., where he held important civil offices and where he died.
William McFerrin (1755-1845) enlisted in Augusta County, Va., 1776, and served
under different commands to 1780. In 1832 he applied for a pension in Tipton
County, Tenn., and it was allowed for fifteen months' service as private,
Virginia Line.
